Lower Back Pain

Discomfort in the lower back can originate from the lumbar, pelvic and hip areas, and is arguably the most common complaint presenting to chiropractors. Although often severely debilitating, 95% of cases are mechanical in origin and can be successfully treated in a primary care setting without the need for invasive investigations or treatments.

Lower back pain is most often the result of cumulative micro-traumas: trivial faults that are habitually repeated causing damage to the area over time. Unfortunately pain is often a late symptom, and warning signs such as stiffness on waking and a feeling of tiredness in the back by the end of the day are ignored.

Chiropractic for the treatment and prevention of lower back pain has been shown in numerous studies to not only be safe, but more effective than conventional medical treatment.
