About Us

Dr Caroline Phillips (Principal)

Born and bred in Wellington, I first developed an interest in a career in Chiropractic whilst studying Sports Science at the University of Auckland. Graduating with a BSc in 2002, I moved over to Sydney to study Chiropractic at Macquarie University the following year, completing my study there in 2006 having obtained a Master of Chiropractic. One month after finishing university, I was lucky enough to begin my career working at Evidence Based Chiropractic with Dr Miles Bingle. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have worked with one of the best; Miles only too happily shared all of his clinical knowledge and adjusting skill, and I credit this input as shaping the practitioner I am today.

My main passion lies in being an approachable and effective practitioner, who takes the time to understand both the patient and their complaint. I believe strongly in developing respect around our profession through the use of evidence based treatment approaches, professional service, and excellent results.

Dr Phillips will be on maternity leave from July 8th 2011, to resume part-time practice in January 2012.  Dr Gordon Winter will be available for appointments Monday-Friday from July 11th 2011.

Dr Gordon Winter (Chiropractor)

Born in Liverpool, I grew up in England, New Zealand, and Canada. My chiropractic interest started when a chiropractor helped me get rid of my migraines while I was attending the University of Alberta, Canada. His exam, bedside manner, and exceptional communication skills impressed me so much that enrolled at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis, USA. I graduated in 1998 and moved to England.

I started Back in Motion Chiropractic Clinic in 2000 in Chorley, Lancashire, which I still own. Back in Motion currently employs 4 chiropractors and 2 massage therapists. My clinic has an excellent relationship with the local GP’s and Orthopaedic surgeons, from whom we receive frequent referrals. Our good reputation is based on evidence-based practice and strong communication with other healthcare professionals.

During my time in the UK, I was the chiropractor for Everton, Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle, Preston North End, Port Vale, Macclesfield, Crewe Alexandra, Blackpool, and Wigan Athletic footballers. I had an excellent opportunity to work with some of the finest physiotherapists and sports doctors in the world.

I have a very personal practise style, tailoring the treatment to suit your needs, abilities, and expectations, and I seem to have the ability to help even the most nervous patient relax. I also enjoy communicating with the GP’s of patients so that we can all work together to get the best outcome possible.

I know that I have large shoes to fill while Dr Phillips enjoys her maternity leave, and I feel privileged to have this opportunity. I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Felecia Smith (Massage Therapist)

I studied bodywork in Albuquerque, New Mexico at The New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and finished my certificate in 2002.   My training program included Swedish, Deep Tissue, Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Pre-Natal Massage, Sports Massage, Myofacial  Release as well as other complementary natural therapies.   I have been practicing professionally since 2002 on a wide range of clients with a wide range of needs.  I specialize in deep tissue work coupled with active release techniques to help clients experience the freedom of movement that comes with unrestricted muscles which allows proper postural alignment.  I have been studying and practicing yoga for 2 years which has brought a greater awareness of how alignment integrates with dynamic movement in the body.  This translates to enhanced sensitivity to the needs of my clients and a more effective treatment. Therapeutic bodywork is my passion and I derive great satisfaction from the way massage helps people relax and feel better in so many ways.
